ANNALEE WALTON is a recent graduate from NYU Tisch School of the Arts working on her thesis directorial film. She has served on over 50 professional and student films all over the country and has worked for AFI, The Weinstein Company, Hero Media Group, and Anonymous Content. A Texas native, Annalee always wanted to be the cowboy in the cowboy story growing up and aims to bring female stories to the forefront of the Western genre so that other girls growing up may want to be the cowgirl in the cowgirl stories. When she's not dreaming of Monument Valley, she may be commonly found stilt walking around the East Village.
Executive Producer - Sophia Huebschmann
SOPHIA HUEBSCHMAN is a New York-based producer passionate about using film as a medium to connect people and tell important stories. Since moving to New York to pursue her dream of working in the film industry, she has produced on over 50 film, TV, radio, and theater projects spanning the independent, student, and commercial worlds. Sophia is so excited to be working on this project with some of her favorite people and collaborators telling such an important story.
Director of Photography - Sunnie Kim
SUNNIE KIM is a NYC-based cinematographer and gaffer currently in her senior year at NYU. She has served as a DP, gaffer, AC, and producer on over 100 films that include features, student projects, and music videos. Her most recent work includes TV Pilot "Salazar" directed by Liam Tiernan & written by David Ramirez, and Anna Mikami's independent short, "Due Date" both of which are currently in post-production. She is incredibly excited and humbled to be working alongside such talented filmmakers to be bringing this poignant, historically rich story of the women of the West to life.
Executive Producer - Juanita Pahdopony
JUANITA PAHDOPONY is a renowned Comanche educator, visual artist, poet, writer, and passionate advocate for tribal language preservation. She is the co-founder of the Comanche Nation College’s annual invitational film festival and has most recently served as the cultural advisor on AMC's The Son starring Pierce Brosnan. She holds an A.A., B.A. and M.Ed. in art education and has taught at Elgin Public Schools, Oklahoma City University, University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, Cameron University, and Comanche Nation College.
Production Designer - Abby Austin
ABIGAIL AUSTIN is a recent graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, with a focus in production design and animation. She has worked on countless Intermediate and Advanced projects at NYU as well as in the art department of professional productions. She is incredibly excited to take on the challenge of creating Thistle Creek’s sets and bringing 1840s Texas back to life.
Costume Designer - Sarah Tonemah
SARAH TONEMAH has been the resident costume designer at Circle Theatre in Fort Worth Texas since 2014. In addition to her work at TCU, she works locally as a cutter and stitcher, most recently at Casa Manana and the Trinity Shakespeare Festival. Has designed for productions at WaterTower Theatre, Cactus Theatre in Lubbock, Wichita Theatre and Opera House and the Backdoor Theatre both in Wichita Falls. Sarah spends her summers as a sewing instructor at The Hockaday School in Dallas, Urban Spools in Dallas, The Forum in Wichita Falls and as art instructor at Van Grow: Art Studio for Kids in Fort Worth. In the past she has taught classes at CityCraft, Dallas whose classes were nominated multiple times for a Best of Big D award, ‘Best Kids Art Classes.’ And spent a summer as a fiber arts instructor for TCU’s Art Adventure camp.
Texas Historian - Will Evans
A Texan native, WILL EVANS is an art collector specializing in American Civil War era collectibles. He is also a frequent participant in military reenactments, studying the clothing, military strategies, and weaponry used in the 19th century.
CALVIN TRAN is a producer based in New York City and Grand Rapids, cofounder of TOPICS Presents, and is a film fellow at the Moving Picture Institute. Previous producer credits include "An American Portrait," "Bizone" presented by MPI and FEE, and "The Voice Continues masterclass with Renee Fleming" presented by Carnegie Hall. He was also a kitchen intern at BaoHaus. He graduates NYU's Film and TV program in 2018.
Comanche Advisor + Music Supervisor - Marla Nauni
MARLA NAUNI (Seneca/Comanche/Huron Band of Potawatomi), from Cache, OK, obtained her Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) and Master's in Human Relations (MHR), from the University of Oklahoma. Her goal as Oklahoma’s Native Entertainer (ONE), is to continue being a positive role model for all youth, and invites any opportunities to perform as ONE Model, Actress, and Recording Artist.
Assistant Director - Nikki Foreman
NIKKI FOREMAN is a recent graduate from NYU who is currently working as a freelance Production Assistant and Field Producer for companies including NBC and the New York Mets. She has worked on countless student films as Assistant Director, and is especially excited to be working on this set with so many talented collaborators and friends.
Gaffer - Omar Nasr
OMAR NASR is an Egyptian Cinematographer & Gaffer based in NYC. He graduated from Tisch School of the Arts in 2016. Upon graduation, he immediately started working in the electric departments on major television shows shooting in the New York area such as Orange is the New Black, Bull, Iron Fist and Master of None, just to name a few. Additionally, he has shot numerous independent short films and music videos over the past 5 years. He is incredibly excited to be working with this team to tell this important story.
Key Grip - Sam Stulin
SAM STULIN has worked on a wide range of narrative, commercial and documentary films for companies including; National Geographic, PBS Nova, The Ford Foundation, Amazon and CBS Sports. He has worked professionally as an Editor, Assistant Editor, Compositor, Sound Mixer, Gaffer, Key Grip and Driver. Additionally, as a student at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, he is a veteran of over 100 student films across every department. BOB ALFORD runs Buckshot Bob's Diamond A Bar Livestock Productions in Texas with the knowledge, experience, top quality livestock and a crew of outstanding and experienced wranglers standing. Having worked on the TV series Dallas, Queen of the South, and Walker Texas Ranger, Alford comes with years of experienced horse wrangling under his belt, always putting safety first.
Set Operations + Transpo - Amy & Randy Walton
Full-time parents and forever friends, AMY & RANDY WALTON are Annalee's parents helping her on her final thesis film at NYU. Randy and Amy own a residential architecture and interior design firm in Fort Worth. After years of owning their own business and raising a kid, they are ready to make a film with that crazy kid who decided to go to film school.
